Movies

I just watched two movies recently and both are highly anticipated in 2009 and tipped to win lots of awards.
The first one would be The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

From comingsoon.net

The film, is adapted from the classic 1920s story by F. Scott Fitzgerald about a man (Brad Pitt) who is born in his eighties and ages backwards. A man, like any of us, unable to stop time. We follow his story set in New Orleans from the end of World War I in 1918, into the twenty-first century, following his journey that is as unusual as any man's life can be.Co-starring Cate Blanchett, Tilda Swinton, Taraji P. Henson, Jason Flemyng, Elias Koteas and Julia Ormond, "Benjamin Button" is a time traveler's tale of the people and places he bumps into along the way, the loves he loses and finds, the joys of life and the sadness of death, and what lasts beyond time.

This movie though a bit slow, is very touching and there is great on-screen chemistry between Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett. I rate it 8.5/10 and its a definately an Oscar contender.

The second one would be Battle of Red Cliff Pt 2.

Personnally i feel that the front part and the middle battle scene makes this whole movie worthwhile but the ending is abit disappointing. There was a gradual build-up to the battle and not to mention the grand scale of the attacks which are quite impressive.

I give the movie 6.5 out of 10 coz as i am not very satisfied with its ending but other than that the movie should be worth the price of the movie ticket.
