Last day of work at West Coast CC
Went to work on friday as usual. The thought of leaving the office left me with a tinge of sadness . Even though the time spent there was just a mere 6 weeks, i felt that i could click well with this bunch of colleagues, nevertheless the generation gap between us. Mdm Quek prepared a simple egg and sausage sandwich for me as a farewell breakfast. I was quite touched by that gesture as i know that despite not being well-off, she still insist on making something for me on my last day of work. We always chatted about our lives during lull periods where the counter was empty and she would tell me some of her past experiences while she was working in PA for the past 20 years. Maybe to some people, wealth, titles, connections are everything that they seek when they are socialising , i think i focus more on how well i can connect with that person as well as whether they accept my faults as an individual. These days, i just keep my expectations low. I think people nowadays expect what you can do or provide for them instead of focusing on the friendship. If nice people come into my life, i will just reciprocate and make sure that i do not shortchange them. I feel this is my way of accepting them.
